Fuck, man. I've been trying to make longer entries, but, as it turns out, I end up either getting embroiled in a game, or television, or sometimes I just run out of inspiration and fall asleep.
Pain in my ass.
So, I'm going to try to do some shorter entries just so I can get something put up here.
A recent report suggests that Iraq war veterans suicide numbers may outnumber combat deaths.
You know what gets me? People justify things like this. "To die is honorable!" No; to die in the course of a heroic and/or honorable action is unfortunate. There is no everlasting value to being a martyr, despite what everybody believes. Death shouldn't be something that you should aspire to-- it should be something to be avoided, and, when it happens, it should be recognized for what it is: the end of potential.
People in government really don't give a shit about people in the military. For the last three wars they've been basically shitting on the veterans. Bad medical care for one thing, not to mention fucking them over royally by sending them there in the first place.
I say all that, but, the truth is, nobody gives a fuck. Nobody cares until somebody they care about dies in one of these stupid fucking wars.
What's more, the whole war veteran suicide thing? People were and are sweeping it under the rug. Shh. Nobody needs to know about this.
It infuriates me. Oh yeah-- the whole "Draftees are worthless" comment that one of our officials made doesn't sit too well with me, either. Was that Rumsfeld or Cheney, or someone else?
Who knows.
I look into the future and I see a world that is only going to get worse. The world, by sheer nature of its construction, can never end.
Let's say that the universe suddenly contains enough matter to force it to close. The resultant collapse of the universe would give birth to another universe.
The universe can never end. Every system-- even manmade ones-- is bound by physics to continue in an ever-renewing cycle. The earth could be nuked to hell and back, struck by a meteor-- hell, destroyed by UFOs.
It wouldn't last. Destruction, no matter how large, will never triumph over the sheer creative chaos that this universe contains. The system will renew itself, and, in some capacity, if not in its original capacity, become useful again. It will work, no matter what.
So when I see things getting worse-- I realize with grim certainty that, according to humanity's social construction, the world will never end. There will never be a day where mutually-assured destruction is tested, just like there will never be a day where the world will end.
Because, even though people are despicable, horrible things not worthy of redemption, they know enough to stop shooting at each other when shit gets really bad.
Here's something for you:

DNC says, number of delegates to win the nomination, 2,025.
Clintons say, 2,209.
Hanh?
Since when the fuck did you get to change the rules when you were losing? This shit didn't work as a kid!
How the hell? Didn't everybody agree that Michigan and Florida weren't going to count?
Didn't they?
So why the fuck is everybody changing the rules now?
If this shit ends in a recount, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
Probably laugh, cry and vomit up a major organ.
Pain in my ass.
